나무 견과류 알레르기와 그 외 식품 알레르기, Tree nut allergy and other food allergy

미국서 호두, 개암, 코코넛(야자열매), 캐슈넛, 피스타치오(Pistachio), 브라질넛 등 나무 견과류를 먹고 연간 1.8백만의 사람들이 거의 죽을 뻔할 정도로 심한 식품 알레르기가 생기기도 하고 때로는 죽기도 한다.
참고로, 땅콩은 나무 견과류에 속하지 않는다.
나무 견과류는 여러 가지 음식물 성분의 재료로 쓰기 때문에 사 먹는 음식물에 나무 견과성분이 들어 있는지 모르고 그 음식물을 먹고 견과류 식품 알레르기가 생길 수 있다.
예를 들면, 고기 없는 버거 샐러드 빵, 바베큐 소스, 꿀, 생선 등에도 나무 견과류의 성분이 소량 들어가 있을 수 있다.
땅콩에 식품 알레르기가 있는 사람은 나무 견과류에 알레르기가 생길 가능성이 더 많다. 나무 견과류에 알레르기가 있는 사람은 음식물을 사서 먹을 때 그 음식물 속에 들어 있는 음식물 성분이 무엇인지 알고 먹어야 한다.
나무 견과 식품 알레르기가 심하게 유발되면 평소에 에피펜 자가 주사기 주사약(Epipen)을 소지하고 다니다가 식품 아나필락시스 반응이 유발되면 에피펜 주사로 응급처치를 하고 따라잡기 치료를 하기 위해서 병원 응급실로 이송해야 한다.

• In the United States, eating tree nuts such as walnuts, hazelnuts, coconut (coconut), cashews, pistachio and Brazil nuts causes severe food allergies, sometimes even death, that nearly kills 1.8 million people annually in the United States.

• Please note that peanuts are not tree nuts.

• Tree nuts are used as ingredients for various food ingredients, so you may develop a nut food allergy by eating the food without knowing whether the food you buy contains tree nut ingredients.

• For example, meatless burger salad bread, barbecue sauce, honey and fish may also contain small amounts of tree nuts.

• People with food allergies to peanuts are more likely to be allergic to tree nuts. People who are allergic to tree nuts should know what food ingredients are in the food and eat it when buying food.

• If a tree nut food allergy is severe, you usually carry an EpiPen auto-injector, and if a food anaphylactic reaction is triggered, you should give first aid with an Epi-Pen injection and transfer to the hospital emergency room for catch-up treatment.
